The harp is one of the most romantic and unique instruments around. The sound of the harp resonants in a delicate way and is loud enough, yet unobtrusive, to be heard for background music. The spectacle of the harp is rather special and adds a touch of sophistication to any event.

Her repertoire is very extensive and can be tailored appropriately for any type of event. From Bollywood themed events to Valentine bookings dressed as an Angel, Kate is a flexible and talented performer.

She originates from Glasgow where she studied the harp at the Royal Scottish Academy of Music & Drama as a junior scholar and later graduated from Trinity College of Music in London studying with world renowned soloist, Sioned Williams.

Since graduating, she regularly gives recitals all over the country, including venues such as the Fairfield Halls and St James’ Piccadilly including Mozart’s Flute & Harp concerto in London, Birmingham and Glasgow with various orchestras and Handel’s Harp Concerto with the Croydon Symphony Orchestra. She won the UK Harp Association Prize and the Croydon Music Festival Concerto Prize in 2001.

She is a busy chamber and orchestral musican. She works with orchestras such as the Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra, the BBC Symphony Orchestra, the Royal Philharmonic Concert Orchestra, Trondheim Symphony Orchestra in Norway and the Ulster Orchestra for radio broadcasts, CD recordings and live performances at the Royal Festival Hall, the Barbican Centre, the Lighthouse in Poole and the Waterfront Hall in Belfast.

As a session musician, she backed the pop band ‘McFly’ on an electric harp for their debut Arena tour (and DVD) of the UK and Ireland, playing to over 200,000 people in 2005. She has also performed on ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ with Katherine Jenkins and Andrea Bocelli.

During her final year at Trinity College of Music, she co-founded the Aurora Duo, a highly successful flute & harp ensemble. They have since performed internationally for concerts and competitions to high acclaim.
